"Which is The Other"

One day, Lea asked her granddaughter Ashley if she wanted orange juice or an orange.
Ashley immediately replied saying....I want both!
Lea replied...."You can't have both!  You can have one or the other!
Ashley stood a second as though in a deep thought and said....I'll have the other.

"And Where Was Father Nature?"

When my daughter was about 5 yrs old, I decided to take her to my job for a visit.
We took a taxi and the taxi's route was through a National Park in Washington D.C.
called Rock Creek Park.
While I was busy talking with the driver, my daughter ShaRon was staring out the
window absorbing nature....
She asked me......"Mommie, How did all those big rocks get up on the mountain like that"
Being very proud of myself, I answered...."Why that's Mother Nature's Work".
Thinking my answer was satisfactory, I continued my conversation with the taxi driver.
In a couple of minutes....I heard my daughter grunt and say...
"I Wonder why Father Nature didn't pick up all those rocks"...
I couldn't wait to get to work to call my mother to tell her....she didn't tell me about Father Nature.

The following is a Christmas poem that my 11 year old daughter Kristen wrote.  I hope you enjoy it!!

THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS

By: Kristen Luimes

The shepherds were caring for their sheep one night,

When suddenly there came a beautiful light.

It gave the shepherds quite a scare,

When they looked up and discovered an angel was there.

“Do not be afraid,” the angel had said,

But in the shepherds there still was some dread.

The angel explained how Jesus had come

To teach us the gospel and save everyone.

Then a whole choir of angels appeared,

And it was music to everyone’s ears.

The shepherds were excited, it was the best!

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favour rests.”

That all happened a long time ago,

But Jesus is someone everyone should know.

We celebrate Christmas even today,

With carols and cookies and rides in a sleigh.

People look forward to Christmas each year,

With presents and pageants and good Christmas cheer.

But let’s not forget the real meaning of Christmas,

It’s Jesus, the Savior, and may He be with us!

"Satan"

While visiting my 4 and 6 year old daughters in Haiti, we played a game
"Do you like...this or that" in English. Well we played it in Creole, and
the younger one asked me "Eske ou renmen siret?" (Do you like candy) and
all sorts of other things. Then she asked "Eske ou renmen Saton"? I had
no idea what Saton was so I said yes. Her eyes got big, and she asked the
question again. This time she quickly leaned over and whispered in my
ear, "no Mommy no". So I said no. When she asked "Eske ou renmen
Bondye"? and I knew that Bondye is God, I realized what Saton must be,
Satan!

Then we stayed at a guest house in Carrefeur. There was a little lizard
crawling around outside. My daughter pointed to it and said "Saton!" I
said no, God loves all the creatures and made them all, just like He made
you. I did a little further explaining about God's creatures and loving
animals. She looked at me, shook her head, pointed to the lizard again
and said "no, Mommy, no. Saton!" I guess she figured she knew Satan when
she saw him, and I needed a little straightening out.
