Dear Adopting Parents & Children Supporters:
Thank you for your interest and your request for information about the Granny
Bin’s Adoption Progress Report which we will, from time to time, refer to as the
GBAPR. Your child(ren) will be referred to as “Angels” and rightly so. As of
this date, we have permission from nine children’s homes to visit and interact
with your angel(s), take their pictures and prepare progress reports.
These homes are:
If your angel is living at another children’s home, other than those listed
above, you must get permission for us to visit and prepare the GBAPR report.
This approval is requested because we want to extend the utmost courtesy to all
the children’s homes in Haiti. Also, it is important to mention that we will in
no way respond to requests for information concerning your angel’s medical,
adoption documents; and/or the adoption process itself. It is not our domain and
frankly, we know nothing about the actual adoption processes. We want this
program to be a fun program that will bring laughter and joy to you and your
family during the finalization of your adoption. Our reports are not social
history documents but reports which will make you feel close to your child(ren),
a report filled with plenty of fun pictures as well as a growth chart that
accompanies each report. We spend the bulk of our time playing and interacting
to make the children feel that they are special and to let them know that you
love them and sent us to share your love.
We encourage you to send family photos so that we can share them with our
angels. If you send more than four (4), we would appreciate if you would make a
freewill donation to our website, www.kreyolforparents.com, to help cover the
costs of printer ink and paper. Children react to pictures of you and they
already know that they have a forever parent. Your pictures are so important to
them.
The program was officially launched November 15, 2005 and if you visit our
click on our guestbook, you will find that we have made many forever parents
happy. If you would like to participate in the GBAPR program, there is a form
for you to fill out and return to me before you can begin. The form is at the
end of this letter and you can copy and paste it into an E mail to me. Please
complete the form in its entirety because each Angel has his/her own dossier in
our filing system. The best way to pay is by PayPal (although they deduct quite
a bit for services, it is the most convenient at this time) or by direct deposit
to my bank (You can E mail me for banking information). Once I get your
completed form and you have made your payment, this is my contract with you to
begin your report. The cost is $40 per Angel per report. While the operational
costs for this service is expensive, we will give special consideration to
families with more than two Angels and who request special consideration.
When we started the program we offered once a month or every other month. It has
come to our attention that we can’t do reports every other month for children
between the ages of 3 and 12 because once we start the program, we develop a
relationship and it is difficult when you visit each month to tell a child that
you can’t participate this month. All they know is that we are extended family
coming to visit and share in their lives – all of your behalf. All the know is
that when Granny Bin knocks on the gate, it’s FUN time and they all come
running.
We solicit your need help in sending me care packages filled with PROP materials
(Colorful and Funny T-shirts, hats, maybe even costumes, holiday decorations,
Educational toys such as colorful plastic blocks, noise making stuffed animals,
anything you think will help me analyze your Angel's activities, reaction to
things, motor skills, etc. If you care to help with this part of the project,
you can send your package in padded envelopes (preferably under 2 lbs) because
this way we don't pay the Haitian customs. Soooo small packages do have their
